About Meshewa

Meshewa is the name of the Cincinnati Waldorf School’s early childhood satellite campus in Indian Hill. Minutes from the surrounding neighborhoods of Madeira, Kenwood, Terrace Park and Mariemont, the Meshewa campus is also easily accessed from the I-71 Montgomery Road exit. Meshewa serves as the home of NatureTots, our nature-based Parent & Child program for toddlers.

Meshewa itself is a former private estate consisting of historic facilities, gardens, meadows, creeks and acres of woodlands. With its beautiful tree-lined drive, the setting is quiet and peaceful – a unique pleasure in the busy heart of Cincinnati.

Our early childhood classrooms are housed in a renovated wing of the manor house and are designed to meet the unique needs of toddlers and babies. The outdoor space is enhanced with play equipment constructed from natural materials, vegetable and flower gardens, and trails along the woodland border and bubbling streams.

With open meadows and acres of private woodlands, our Meshewa campus also provides space for preschool and grade school students who visit from our Main Campus in Mt. Airy. Field trips, curriculum-based activities, community gatherings, regional Waldorf events, fund raising events, workshops and cooking classes also take place at this Indian Hill campus.

Meshewa is adjacent to and supported by Turner Farm, a 150-acre farm specializing in the use of draft horses, community supported agriculture and organic farming. Turner Farm provides support for our programming with horse-drawn wagon rides, pumpkin patch visits, farm activities for our summer camp programs and curriculum-based activities supporting our grade school.
